A new kind of advisory service for women.
Fern + Yarrow Health is an online women’s health service, launched in Victoria, BC. Founded by nurse practitioner and health educator Michele Agostinelli, we offer health guidance for women that considers well-being in all its dimensions.
Independent health guidance that works alongside your primary care
Many areas of health are complex and require time and space to explore.
The women who connect with us have concerns that don’t always fit neatly into a diagnosis ‘box.’ They may be searching for answers, feel ‘not themselves’ or have normalized their health status quo.
Others sense they’re not yet at the root of their health truths, or aren’t moving toward their health potential, and want more when it comes to their lifestyle and well-being. Most are seeking information, guidance, and answers to their questions.
All have a desire to be heard. They’re looking to team-up with a credible health professional who can understand (and contextualize) their unique health experiences and help them find a way forward in their own health journey. They want to feel a sense of possibility, and that more optimal health — as they define it — is within reach.
An ally in your health
We support women in making sense of their health. We offer a transformative consultation service that considers your individual health ‘truths’, and values not only what your lab tests reveal, but what you feel about your unique experiences of health. Why? Because it has the power to influence your well-being.
We strive to start a conversation with women and to create compelling health experiences that begin with one powerful question: “What’s true for you?”

Michele’s story
Reimagining women’s health
For a long time, I felt like I was searching for something more when it came to the women’s health space. Every time a conversation focused on just one symptom, one part of the body, or a single health system, I kept thinking: What about the rest of it?
The question stuck with me, through my experiences teaching nurse practitioner students, in listening to women within the primary care system, and in my own journey as a woman engaging with healthcare.
I wondered what it would look like to offer women a more comprehensive way to understand their well-being — to consider the whole picture, not just the pieces — and to inspire a sense of possibility matched with a clear path forward.
Firstly, it would mean partnering with women to decipher their experiences and the things they’ve heard or been told about their health. It would mean carving out dedicated time and space to answer their questions, and providing clarity and context to support informed decisions.
Secondly, it would mean offering them a professional ally — someone who could bridge different aspects of healthcare and work collaboratively with them to create a plan for well-being based on their goals. The aim wouldn’t be to replace or diminish the importance of primary care, but instead, to extend the conversation and consider women's health from every angle.
Fern + Yarrow is the outcome of this thinking. It reflects a crystallizing of ideas over many years. It honours the subtle knowing we share as women, even if we come at things from diverse perspectives and backgrounds. And it values a deep desire to improve our well-being and health outcomes, on our terms.
Bringing Fern + Yarrow to life marks the end of one search for answers, but it’s just the start of another. I’m excited to see where this journey takes us. Thank you for being here.
